Roche Harbor Resort is located on San Juan Island in Washington State, about a 5-hour trip from Seattle including ferry travel. San Juan Island is one of favorite places in the whole world, second only to Whidbey Island.

The highlight of Roche Harbor Resort is the Roche Harbor Marina, a bustling hub for tourists and boaters, offering stunning waterfront views. Roche Harbor Resort also features beautiful gardens and event space setting the scene for the beautiful and romantic wedding of Heather and Ben.

Fun Fact: My very first wedding that I photographed was at Roche Harbor Resort. I’ve returned to photograph many more weddings at Roche Harbor over the years. I get a sense of peace every time, I go there.

One of my past couples came all the way from Oklahoma City to hold their wedding at Roche Harbor. They saw the photos online and fell in love without even visiting it first.

Heather & Ben’s San Juan Island Roche Harbor wedding was the absolute sweetest. It started with a rare August windstorm the night before made the ferry ride to San Juna Island very bumpy. The ferry listed sideways as huge waves crashed against the boat. Roche Harbor Resort also lost power.

But the wedding day ended up being beautiful and sunny. Heather & Ben exchanged vows in the garden area of the Roche Harbor Resort.

The guests were treated to a farmers market style cocktail hour and a beautiful sunset to cap off an amazing day.

I highly recommend Roche Harbor Resort for your wedding:

It’s super photogenic throughout the year. You will give your wedding photographer a lot to work with for stunning photos.
The resort is also a hotel for on-site accommodations for out-of-town guests.
Your guests will have plenty to do during their stay to explore San Juan Island.
Roche Harbor Marina also has two great restaurants. Don’t forget that Friday Harbor is only a 20-minute drive for many more selections.
