Seattle Weddings
During my years as a Seattle wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky to capture many beautiful wedding ceremonies and celebrations at many amazing places in the Seattle area. But there’s something special about Block 41. When I photographed Samantha & Aaron’s Seattle wedding there, it was pure class. It was my first time at Block 41, and I was blown away by the contemporary chic vision that was brought to life at this venue.
About Block 41 Wedding Venue
Block 41 is located right in the middle of downtown Seattle in the vibrant neighborhood of Belltown. With an industrial and contemporary vibe, the large space has the versatility to be transformed into any vision and can host a large guest count.

Block 41 has two floors that can separately host the ceremony and the reception.
On the first floor is the bright and spacious Bert & Tot Ballroom. Daylight floods in from three sides, making it feel airy and fresh. This large room mixes luxury with an industrial vibe, boasting wide oak floors, brick walls, and stylish leather columns. There is also an outdoor Courtyard connected through a big glass door where guests can step out to get some fresh air. The wedding ceremony is typically held at the Bert & Tot Ballroom.
On the lower level is the Ewing Theater. The floor provides an expansive space for hosting dinner for the wedding guests. While the guests dine, the first floor can be transitioned for dancing.
Seattle Wedding at Block 41 Venue
Samantha and Aaron’s wedding ceremony beautifully blended elements from both the Jewish and Christian traditions with a Rabbi and a Christian officiant presiding over the ceremony. It included the signing of the Ketubah, a traditional Jewish marriage contract, and the breaking of the glass at the end of the ceremony. And of course, what Jewish wedding would be complete without the Hora.
Samantha and Aaron took the opportunity to feature some of the iconic Seattle spots in their wedding photos: the Pike Place Market, Post Alley, Mamma’s Mexican (now closed), and the beautiful “Greetings from Seattle” wall mural in the courtyard of Block 41.
Reasons to Choose Block 41 as Your Wedding Venue:
Classy and contemporary vibe: The venue is all class without all the fuss. The wide-open space gives the guests plenty of room to move around without feeling being crowded.
After-party: There are some many options for the after-party after the wedding. Belltown has so much to do in the wee hours of the night.
Centrally located: This would be a great opportunity for couples, wedding party, and guests to stay at downtown Seattle accommodations and settle in for a weekend celebration. They can enjoy everything Seattle has to offer.
Things to Consider When Choosing Block 41 as Your Wedding Venue:
Parking: Just like any downtown Seattle venue, parking can be a challenge for guests and vendors.
Lack of portrait options: While Block 41 is a spectacular venue, there are limited opportunities for portraits at the immediate areas of the venue. You may need to walk a few blocks if you want more options so bring comfortable shoes. The good news is that the Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle waterfront, and Bell Harbor Conference Center are only a couple of blocks away to capture those iconic Seattle photos.
If you choose to hold all your portraits indoors at the venue, make sure that your photographer is skilled in flash photography.
