About The Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle
In the heart of downtown Seattle sits The Arctic Club Hotel. The hotel is a testament to the city’s rich history and architectural grandeur. Originally constructed in 1916 as a haven for Alaska gold rush pioneers, this meticulously restored landmark exudes timeless elegance and charm. Its Beaux-Arts façade, adorned with intricate terra cotta detailing, captivates passersby, inviting them into a world of refined luxury. Inside, guests are greeted by opulent interiors featuring majestic staircases, ornate chandeliers, and the iconic Northern Lights Dome Room, a breathtaking space perfect for weddings and special events.
Taylor and Matt’s wedding marked my debut for photographing a wedding at the Arctic Club Hotel, and it was truly a delightful experience. Opting for a March celebration was a thoughtful choice by the couple, ensuring the availability of their cherished friends and family during a quieter time of the year.

Things to consider when choosing The Arctic Club Hotel as your wedding venue
Lack of Natural Light
There are no windows in the interior of the venue, including the Dome Room, meaning natural light is limited. As a result, it’s important to choose a wedding photographer who is skilled and comfortable using flash photography. Additionally, consider whether the aesthetic of photos taken with flash aligns with your preferences.
Availability of Space for Portraits
I highly recommend capturing all couple, family, and bridal party portraits before the ceremony begins. Space for these photos becomes more restricted once guests arrive.
If you opt for outdoor shots, keep in mind that photography space is confined to the immediate area of the venue. Consider planning ahead for a short drive to Pioneer Square, ensuring smooth transportation for everyone involved.
